Specializing in prohibition-era music (1920-1933) but pulling from recordings that range from the 00s into the late 30s.

Mining forgotten gems of hot jazz, hillbilly, popular songs, dixieland, dance band & instrumental novelties.

WEDNESDAY 6/7/17 at Circa 33 (3348 SE Belmont) 7-11pm. Celebrate Negroni Week Campari with a step back in time at our speakeasy party on Wednesday, June 7th, from 7-11pm. Join us for Negroni flights, and Negroni Jello Shots, while DJ Powerless spins prohibition era 78s and cylinders on his pre-electric phonographs – so you can party like it’s 1933! Enjoy Campari promos, tastings, and more in our private speakeasy party, celebrating all things Negroni!

$1 of every Negroni cocktail & jello shot sold will be donated directly to the Oregon Food Bank.

SUNDAY 6/11/17  at Circa 33 (3348 SE Belmont) 2-6pm. Taste the best of our local distillery scene, and party with Circa 33 at the culmination of our Blind Pig series! Sunday, June 11th from 2-6pm, enjoy samples from eight distillers in our speakeasy. DJ powerless will be spinning 1930’s era vinyl for some extra old-timey ambiance in our speakeasy, while you sip on the delicious offerings of our local distilleries! Want more than a taste? Get some amazing cocktails featuring our guest distillers lineup, and specialty pork pairings.
The party continues on our patio, with giant Jenga, cornhole and prizes!

SATURDAY 2/25/17 at Likewise (3564 SE Hawthorne, Portland). Celebrtate 100 years of recorded jazz with DJ Powerless! It was February 26, 1917 when the Original Dixieland Jass Band recorded Livery Stable Blues and Dixieland Jass Band One-Step, the two sides of the first jazz record ever made, sparking a nationwide musical revolution, forever changing our musical landscape. Come hear this musical treasure and more great early jazz on its original 78rpm format!

MONDAY 1/23/17 at the Whitsell Auditorium (934 SW Salmon) for a screening of the documentary “78RPM,” part of the NW Film Center’s Reel Music Festival.
